What is Eurostar?

Eurostar is a high-speed rail service between England and Europe that travels through a tunnel deep below the English Channel. It is sometimes called the Chunnel train. It offers an alternative to flying. Trains eliminate the ordeal of getting to the city center from airports as stations are within the city.

Eurostar connects London with the towns of Ebbsfleet and Ashford in England with Calis, Lille and Paris, France and Brussels, Belgium. Seasonal service connects to other European cities as well. If you plan ahead you can get a nice deal that will allow you to have lunch in Paris.

Eurostar London

The Eurostar station in London is located in St. Pancras International Station on Euston Road N1. St. Pancras is both a tube station and National Rail station. It is connected with King’s Cross tube/rail station by underground pedestrian walkways, called subways in the UK. St. Pancras station is next to the British Library on Euston Road. Please note that St. Pancras station was formerly in postcode NW1 but changed to N1.

Connecting to Victoria station is possible by underground (the tube) using the Victoria line (preferred) or Circle line (longer journey). From Victoria the
Gatwick Express is direct to Gatwick.

Connecting to
Gatwick Airport is possible by using a Southern train to Brighton (it’s last destination). The train stops at London Bridge before travelling on to Gatwick.

Connecting to
Heathrow Airport is possible by using the tube to Paddington station and transferring to the Heathrow Express.

Eurostar England

The train leaves St. Pancras International, London and stops for additional passengers at Ebbsfleet and Ashford before going under the channel.
